Platforms Africa demands fair polls as Ghana conducts Make or Mar election

 

Leading e-Community of intellectuals, policy moulders and opinion leaders in Africa, Platforms Africa, has called on Ghana to conduct a free, fair and credible polls as the West African country goes into a make or mar election today, Monday, December 7.

The forum, which stated this in a press release issued in Lagos, Nigeria, by the Admin, Adeola Yusuf, added; “The World is watching Ghana today having witnessed controversies that greeted most elections conducted this year even in the United States and we charge the country to make Africa proud with the conduct of an election that will be fair to all.”

The release entitled; “PLATFORMS AFRICA CALLS FOR FREE, FAIR, CREDIBLE ELECTIONS AS GHANA’S DEMOCRATIC CREDENTIALS IS ON TRIAL TODAY,” reads, “Ghana goes to poll today to elect the President and 275 Parliamentarians who will paddle the canoe of the West African country for the next four years.

“The country, compared to many nations in Africa, relatively has history of smooth change of democratically elected government and we in Platforms Africa perceive today’s election as a test of this tradition.

“We call on President Nana Akufo-Addo, who is also contesting in the election, and other candidates to write their names in gold by ensuring that the country conducts a free, fair and credible election.”

The World, according to Yusuf, a multiple award winning journalist in Africa; “is watching Ghana today having witnessed controversies that greeted elections even in the United States and we charge the country to make Africa proud with the conduct of an election that will be fair to all. Ghana should make Africa proud and the time to do that is now!

“On behalf of our resource persons across the continent, we wish Ghana; our second Admin/Moderator of e-Discourse, Sir Francis KOKUTSE; and all Ghanaians a successful election.”
